knitting journal: r’s tiny felted mitts

These fingerless gloves were a project for using up leftover yarn, made freestyle without anything resembling a pattern. Making them different but complememtary was inspired by the camper shoes twins collection, and is something I’ll do more of in the future I’m sure.

I completely miscalculated how wide my hands are, so they ended up FAR too wide. I tried shrinking them by felting, but of course that shrunk them lengthwise as well (duh!). They are TINY, I didn’t really know what to do with them. But then my friend Ruth tried them on and they fit her, so I added the embroidery and they are perfect for her. This is her titsy little hands modelling them.
