charity shop finds

I had an extremely successful charity shop trip on Friday, although I did spend £27, which is really more than I should have. Charity shops are so expensive these days, damn the stupid recession and everyone suddenly buying second hand and pushing up the prices in *my* shops! hhhhmmpff!

I’m only joking really, I can’t begrudge charities making as much money off their donations as they can. And I do like the fact that most shops are a bit more professionally run than they were 5 years ao. But it does mean that I have to be a bit more selective in what I buy from them. There were at least 5 other things I was considering buying, and I would have got on a less successful day, but you can’t have everything, right?

anyway, here’s what I did get:

charity shop loot
Patent leathery ballet slippers – I love the colour! This will make it a hell of a lot easier for me to put together 100% thrifted outfits.

charity shop loot
Tweed tartan skirt, oriinally from one of the overpriced Scottish ‘new traditional’ shops on the Royal Mile. This reminds me that I discovered only last week that Americans pronounce plaid ‘platt’. hehe. I do love the US-UK differences!

charity shop loot
Lacey turquoise top, it’ll go lovely with the skirt.

charity shop loot
Stripey tshirt dress/tunic (with pockets!)

charity shop loot
John Lewis cowl neck jumper – workproof!

I also found some brilliant clarks granny shoes, kind of like the books Missa of Thrift Candy has been coveting, but unfortunately my feet were too small!
