The Knitter’s Handbook

the knitter's handbook

I got this book, the The Knitter’s Handbook by Eleanor Van Zandt out of the library and its wonderful! I’m not usually a huge fan of pattern books, because there’s usually only ever one or two things in any one book I would actually want to make, and anyway, I’m not one for following patterns slavishly, I prefer to make things up as I go along. But this book, it’s different. It just gives you the stitches needed for different textures and leaves the rest up to you, which is as it should be.

I’m considering buying this book, or one like it. Any recommendations, anyone?

My friend’s a huge knitter. I should buy her this book…so she can make me something with the simple bobble stitch :]

No recommendation, though I do like Knitting on the Edge by Nicky Epstein.
But this one you have there looks fantastic!
