My computer troubles have got worse, and I’ve had to reboot my laptop completely. This means I’ll need to take a few days and reinstal everything, and won’t be uploading any more Paris photos any time soon. I’ve therefore decided to make the most of it and split the Paris trip posts up into several ones, so I can share what I’ve uploaded so far at least. For more photos, visit my Paris flickr set, which I’ll be adding to as the computer allows.
These photos are all from our first day in Paris, when we did A LOT of walking. Actually, we did a lot of walking all the way through, but the first day was probably the most walky of all – our feet were not yet sore (as they were by the end) and the weather was too good to go underground – we didn’t go into the Metro once. We visited Place des Vosges, Ile St Louis, Notre Dame, then had lunch in a lovely Alice in Wonderland-themed cafe and a first wander through the Marais, then back down to the river to look at the rest of Ile de la Cite and biscuits in a park by Pont Neuf. In the evening we had dinner by Canal St. Martin and went to Le Pop In for a drink. The band that was on was pretty awful – they were middle aged with extremely expensive instruments, but appeared to only have learned these instruments about two weeks previously!
