For my birthday, I got a Vivien of Holloway dress from girlfriends. They had to order it over the internet. Now VoH dresses don’t come in sizes, they come in measurements. So off I go and measure myself and luckily I am exactly the right measurements for one of the sizes. Perfect, I think, until I get the dress and I can’t do up the zip at the back, it’s not even anywhere near being closed. I then find out that the next size up from the one I have is the equivalent of a (UK) size 16. And I cannot be a size 16. I am only 5 foot 3 tall for god’s sake! So I decide the plan of action is to try and lose enough weight to fit into it. Which fails completely of course, and I eventually go and exchange the dress while I’m down in London where their shop is. And guess what? I end up exchanging it for a dress IN THE SAME SIZE. Turns out they must have sewn on the wrong label.
So, moral of the story is I am not a size 16 and don’t order VoH dresses online.
But i’ll let them off, because isn’t it a beautiful dress?
