I’m off work this week, running errands, sleeping, wandering the streets and doing stuff in the Edinburth Festival, before we go down south for the Summer Sundae music festival on Thursday. It is so nice to be lazy!
Yesterday I came across this installation/sculpture in a gardens very close to our flat. It’s by Andrew Ranville and was commissioned as part of an exhibition. I haven’t been to the exhibition, and the gallery’s website went a bit overboard with the flashiness, and I can’t actually get to any of the information, so I’m afraid I don’t have much more to tell you about either the artist or the work. But I really like how the installation is just sort of there and has become part of daily life, with dogs chasing balls over it. I think that’s how art should be, not only hidden away in museums that only certain types of people will ever visit.
