The joy of throwing stuff away

RIP shoes

You might have noticed that I wore my red adidas trainers both days at Summer Sundae. That was because I was trying to kill them, and now they’re dead and in the bin! I’ve had them since 2001, and have eventually managed to walk off the soles and the material at the front is all cracked and muddy, so I could chuck them with a clean conscience. I love that actually. using things up completely. It makes me very happy when I finish up a bottle of shampoo, or a tin of face cream. It’s like i’ve used it to it’s full potential. Am I strange or does anyone else have this too?

Happy weekend!

Hee, I know just what you mean. That feeling of completion is very satisfying.

I feel exactly the same way when I use the whole bottle of conditioner! Or soap… or anything! I feel far less wasteful! Happy weekend and good job on eeking the life out of the shoes!

    yes, yes, i do!

whenever old sweaters have too much lint and holes in them i feel so accomplished, like i wore it to it's death!

It is good and bad when you get that much use out of shoes, good they lasted so long, so sad to say goodbye.

LOL you're not strange, I felt the same way when I replaced my well-worn purse/wallet today. I was able to buy a new one guilt free!
