When getting ready for the Berlin trip, I was having a difficult time deciding what clothes to take. When I was getting ready for Paris and Portugal, I was super focused and had it all planned out, but this time I was all over the place. There were so many things I wanted to take, and potentially so many different weather conditions to dress for, and it was all getting a bit out of hand. But I needed to limit myself, since I’m sharing a bag with Dave and anyway, we’re only going for 5 days, so I didn’t want to take lots of stuff on the off-chance I might wear it.
So I made like a magazine editor, and packed in outfits. These little sketches helped me work out what was possible with a minimum number of things and they were fun fun fun to do. I think the fact that my style is pretty heavy on colour blocking made it easier to draw than if I had lots of patterns and complicated cuts in my wardrobe. I got it down to two skirts in the end, but weirdly, I could not do with less than 3 pairs of shoes. I did end up taking some things that aren’t in these outfits, and swapping some others too. We’ll see if it works or if I end up changing it all round once there.
