Tegan and Sara

This weeks music and style is about Tegan and Sara. I’m going to see them in a couple of weeks time, so excited! I’ve managed to get a hold of their new album Sainthood as well, so I’ll be well prepared. I’ve listened to it four times all the way through and if I’m perfectly honest, I probably prefer their older stuff – the balance between voice and music has tipped in favour of the mnusic and i’m a lyrics and singing girl all the way through. But this is really just nitpicking, it still sounds great and I’m looking forward to hearing it live so much.

But, anyway, their style! They were another band where I didn’t really know what they dressed like, but it seems to veer between sporty (tshirts, hoodies, trainers) and boyish (skinny trousers, breton tops, waistcoats, blazers). I’m not sure whether that’s a development over time or whether it’s just two aspects of their style, but it looks good either way, and of course topped off perfectly by their amazing asymmetric haircuts. How I wish I could cary something like that off!

The first time I listened to their new album I didn't like it, but it's grown on me and I really like it now even if it is quite different to their old stuff.

They are the smallest girls I've ever seen, and I'm pretty small! Yay for petite fash!

Whilst I don't really like their fash style for me, I really admire their look because it's sharp and different, and wouldn't it be fun being twins and planning stuff out!?
