So, summer has finally arrived in Scotland*. I was out the other day and it was HOT. So hot I was ready to take my tights off and show the world my less-than-perfectly-epilated legs. I did manage to make it back to the office before inflicting this sight on anyone, but it was there and then I decided I need some sandals.
I’ll also be going to Barcelona for a holiday in a couple of weeks and it will definitely be hot then. And I’ll definitely be doing A LOT of walking. Basically Dave and I like to go on city trips, and spend the entire time randomly wandering the streets until our legs hurt. It’s the only way to really experience a city, in my opinion. So any sandals I will get need to be walk-proof which means (1) a strap the the back – no slip ons and (2) a substantial sole.
These two criteria and my dislike of gladiator sandals narrowed my options significantly, to the point where I can actually show you every single pair I found.
First up, two pairs from Hush Puppies. They’re £40 both come in black as well.
These ones from Clarks, also £40. They come in quite a nice natural leather brown as well.
Then, at the higher end of the market, two pairs from camper – both £70.
Since I was on the camper website anyway, I ended up looking at everything there (I know, bad mistake). I found two (three if you count the same pair in different colours) beautiful and lovely, and even more expensive pairs which don’t quite fit the criteria, but are oh so pretty.
I did end up getting one of these over the weekend. Can you guess which? Which one is your favourite?

* actually, I’m sort of nervous in saying that because last year we had a few days of proper hot weather in the spring and then never again.
