me in the Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Pavilion

We went to see the Barcelona Pavillion designed by Mies van der Rohe. I used to be completely obsessed with it when I was big into architecture, and I have been there before. I remember it being way smaller, and I also remember it being in a street of residential houses, rather than in the big public spaces halfway up Montjuic. It is pretty amazing, just so clean and simple. The pictures don’t do it justice.

Joan Miro sculpture near Placa D'Espanya

A giant Joan Miro sculpture near Placa D’Espanya. We had been expecting the park (Parc Joan Miro) to have lots of his stuff, but it was just the one thing.

Lichtenstein sculpture near Barcelonetta

A Roy Lichtenstein sculpture near Barcelonetta. I had never seen any Lichtenstein that wasn’t a canvas before.

Palau de la Musica Catalunya

In the afternoon we visted the Palau de la Musica Catalunya. It’s a lovely piece of modernista (that’s the spanish version of art nouveau) architecture and design. And has a very cool contemporary extension too. The most impressive thing is the inverted glass dome in the centre (that’s not my picture by the way).

How exactly is Edinburgh pronounced ? Americans seem to say "Ed-in-boar-oh" is it actually "ed-in-burr-uh"? ahh dunno wanna sound like some tacky American tourist haha
