Outfits 23.5.10: a vintage apron, almost

cupcake baking outfit

These outfits are from Sunday before last, when it was really hot. I spent the morning baking cupcakes, and this is what I wore. I was invited to a birthday tea party in the afternoon, and had every intention of wearing this apron out, but then I chickened out at the last minute. It was probably a good thing too, because there was a lot of jeans and tshirt type people there, and it would have been a bit odd for me to flounce around in an apron, even a lovely one such as this.

23.5.10: an outfit for the heat

So this is what I actually wore. Note the exceedingly unsexy trecking sandals! I was trying them out for taking to Barcelona, and I’m glad I did, because they gave me ginormous blisters and so it would not have been good for me to take them! I’ve had them since I was at school, and they’ve done good service during the three months I lived in Belize. I remember them being really comfy, so it’s weird that they are not any more. Maybe they’ll have better luck on someone else’s feet – I’m giving them away to the charity shop, since I’m unlikely to ever go on an adventure type trip again.

top – h&m? Gap? who knows!
skirt – I dyed it blue
necklace – gift from Dave’s mum
sunnies – h&m
jacket, which I pointlessly carried about all day – promod
trecking sandals – some outdoor shop

So smart to give the sandals a test run. Isn't it odd how our whole bodies can shift and change over time?

    I adore that long necklace.

LOL I used to have sandles like that, and I wore them with socks! 😛

I love the apron, I love all of the bright, cheery colors that you wear 🙂

Love your apron! I hate being overdressed, but I also hate feeling underdressed, even when everyone around me is wearing jeans and tees. Today I am wearing a very cute t-shirt and capri jeans and I feel, dare I say, frumpy?

    That apron is absolutely lovely!

Wow, that apron is really beautiful! I love the colors against the black dress.
I hear you on shoe and feet shifting. I've gone down a 1/2 size, which maybe because I used to run a lot (and I do lower impact stuff now).
Really dig the colorful necklace with the sunglasses.

Hi Franca! I've been reading your blog for some time now, but I do believe this is my first time commenting. I wanted to let you know that we were linked via the art swap and the brooch you made arrived today. Thank you so much! It's lovely. Orange and purple are two colors I love together. They just seem to compliment each other so well.

Whilst on the topic of lovely things, your vintage apron takes the cake! It looks terrific against the black dress and accented by the blue flats.

    Thank you again!

Hehe thats funny, my friend wore an apron to art school the other day, which I guess you can get away with at art school anyways.
