C.Neeon – Berlin designers producing unique clothes with bold graphic prints and unusual shapes

These are all by Berlin knitwear/jersey design duo C.Neeon.

I first heard of C.Neeon in an interview found via my parent’s stack of Saturday newspaper magazines (link is in German). It stuck in my head because the explanation they gave for how they got their name was so odd. Their names are Clara and Doreen. The C stands for Clara, but the Neeon comes from Doreen’s younger sister mispronouncing her name as a child. Which is quite random I think. I totally get that Doreen would be difficult for a small child to pronounce, but surely they would change it to Noeen, noy Neeon, right?

But anyway, I came across the label again in an article in InStyle about how there is (shock horror!) cool designers outside London, Paris, NY and Milan. So I looked them up. They’ve apparently done collections with Topshop and H&M, so maybe they are actually famous, but since I don’t follow high street fashion in any systematic way, that passed me by completely.

Either way, their stuff is pretty snazzy, non? The bright colours, the graphic prints and weaves, the unusual shapes! So so good! Bit out of my price range, or I’d be snapping up this jumper or this dress.

I really need to get to Berlin one of these days! So much creativity coming out of there.

BTW, I'm doing my very first giveaway, and it's open to international readers: http://thewellappointedcatwalk.blogspot.com/2010/08/im-baaack-with-gifts.html

I love that your blog is dedicated to colour. I just finished a year-long fast from black. I refused to buy any item of clothing in black when that used to be my go-to. It was a cool experiment. Colour is way more fun and black doesn't even look that good on me!
