I am dispensing with my schedule today (I seem to have fallen into the habit of posting random photo roundups on fridays) to give you this: a knitted headband! The pattern is the Blue Leaf headband on ravelry, though I seem to have done the yarn overs the wrong way round so this isn’t looking nearly as lacy as it does in the official photographs. But no lacey holes = warmer, so it’s all good.

Since this is someone else pattern it isn’t for sale. I made it for my friend at work who specifically asked for a headband. I would never in a million years have thought about making one of those, because they make me think of the 80s and tennis players, but after I had it I liked wearing it! It’s better than a hat when you have a high ponytail. And the yarn is lovely cashmere mix which is so soft on the ears.

I might have a play around with making up a headband pattern I can do quickly, and maybe I’ll add a headband design to my etsy shop standards. What do you think? Good idea or waste of yarn?

You’re not getting away entirely without self-promotion though: I’ve started adding some bits and pieces in my folksy shop for everyone that is UK based. More to come obviously, but in the meantime anything in my etsy should eventually also be available over there.

Bon week-end mes amis!

I'd be interested in seeing a headband pattern…I wear ponytails often, even in winter, and it's annoying to freeze my ears off because a hat won't fit right over the tail! I hate the bunchy, I-have-a-knob-on-the-bakc-of-my-head look.

You have done a very good job, and there is no loss in try and see if they sell…
    Un abrazo.

I think it's really cute! I love the soft grey/lilac color you've done it in.
