I knitted myself a Knitty Kink

Not for the shop or anything, just for MEEEEE! I used up a single skein of this handspun wool by Mirasol yarns (from Peru!) left over in my stash. I bought three skeins in New York two years ago, but only used up two for a feather and fan scarf. The kink pattern was described as ideal for a single skein of handspun, so off I went.

I think it’s a really fun pattern and knits up amazingly quickly, though if I did this again, I would make a short version with just the one button like in the pictures that go with the pattern. Though it is nice as a sort of collar as well like in the second picture. And the double wrapped way of wearing it kept me toasty warm on Saturday when I went on a march against the Tory budget cuts/outright attack on public services.

The colour is more accurate in the second picture by the way, a really rich magenta-ey purple.

I love it.I am a knitter, although it is a while since a knitted anything. It really looks like a brilliant idea to make one to each of my girls. I have to look at the pattern in detail.
Love the first photo: round your neck, cosy and styly.
    Thank you guapa!!!

Hello Franca! I love that collar, it's a beauty. I wish someone could teach me how to knit, I'm in awe of your talent. x

Love it! The colour and shape is just gorgeous 🙂

One day I'll dare a pattern but I think it'll be a while yet. Those abbreviations are still gobbledigook to me 😉 You make the most beautiful things!

Looks great! I love Knitty's patterns. And good on you for protesting. I know I didn't vote for cuts.
