Outfit 30.9.10: primary colours

This outfit is from Thursday. I had been feeling really ill with the cold, fluey symptoms AND an upset stomach since the previous Friday, especially over the weekend, and it was STILL going on on Thursday. Most of the time while I was feeling like crap I thought I might as well look like crap, and was wearing lots of black and grey and boring things. A couple of pople even commented on my lack of colour. But on Thursday I had had enough and said screw it to dressing professionally. I wore jeans, trainers and a tshirt, all things which I consider no-nos for a professional wardrobe. Bascially a typical casual Friday outfit. It didn’t make my cold any better, but putting together a nice and comfy outfit did make me feel a little cheerier.

In other news, my hair is super greasy here. After an email from the lovely Veronica Darling, I thought I’d try and go back to washing my hair only every second day like I used to but fell back into washing every day (I have mega greasy hair). I am told that over time it should get less disgusting, but it’s been three weeks and so far no success. It has taught me though that the world will not end if I have greasy hair. And it looks nice enough from a distance. And gives me an extra five minutes in the morning.

cardie, jeans – charity shop
scarf, earrings – swap
top – uniqlo
bangles – cheap import shop
trainers – converse

p.s. Am now back to health!

My hair is exactly the same way, and no amount of trying to train my hair NOT to be greasy has ever worked! Last year I had a verrry short haircut that didn't need washing every day and it was a miracle.

I know everyone's hair is different, but I've completely stopped using shampoo and it's been a miracle for me. The trick I found was that along with ditching the shampoo, I had to switch to a silicone-free conditioner. Once I did that, no greasy, icky hair, and I can go days and days without even getting it wet.

Chic casual outfit. Love the pretty femininity of the scarf with the sporty-ish shoes.

I "shampoo" my scalp every four days with a baking soda and water paste and then "condition" with diluted apple cider vinegar. On the second day I rinse my hair in the shower with hot water and redistribute the oils that have accumulated. My hair is far less greasy than it was when I was using shampoo and it is soft even though it is highlighted.

How's that for perhaps too much information from an internet stranger?

Wow, these colors are strikingly beautiful with your skin tone. What a great casual look!
