Outfit 17.11.10: green and brown and red

green and brown and red

new campers

This outfit was made significantly better by the fact that I had a nurses appointment yesterday. I was going to just wear the dress and the tank top/sweater vest with these green shoes. But then I remembered that I had this nurses appointment and I was going to have to walk there (well, I didn’t have to, I could have got the bus, but I like walking and don’t like spending £1.20 needlessly). So I decided on these campers, which have the red laces. And then of course I had to add more red to keep my matching OCD happy, and so I ended up with this, which is much better than a simple green and brown thing, don’t you think.

Incidentally, I’m going off camper. The rubber soles are really walked off, and the leather is beginning to show through at the edge. The top of the shoe is in great condition, so I would love to get them resoled, but you can’t! The rubber is sewn on, and apparently it’s not possible to simply stick a new layer on top. Unless anyone has any different experiences? This is a deal breaker for me, I’m not willing to spend that much on shoes if they’re not going to last, no matter how comfy and pretty!

dress – h&m
tank top/sweater vest – beacon’s closet
shoes – camper
bangle and scarf – charity shop

I love the green matched with the green blue. I was lusting over a vest like this on etsy the other day (and wisely closed down the page). I love retro look of the stripes/lines of the this top.
That's too bad that your Campers aren't lasting well. I thought they were a hardy brand.

The used to be, but seem to have gone downhill in the last couple of years. I know other people who have noticed the same thing.

Interesting, both our posts are about shoes…We might be mentally connected!!!!hehehehe
Camper are a Spanish brand, but I never wear them for the same reason, too highly prized.
You look very happy and very pretty Franca.

    Great outfit!

You can sort of cut off the damaged part of the sole, and stick a new bit of rubber-like stuff underneath (sort of kind of matching the original colour), but most cobblers don't like to do it.

I managed to get it done on one pair of Campers, but only by going to the same shoe-guy (there's really only one near here) several times over the course of several months.

He finally agreed to do it – maybe because he was getting tired of me, maybe because he was just in a better mood.

The fixed part is much stronger though, I've been wearing the shoes for years now.

Yep I had a pair of Camper boots I lived in and was devestated to be told the same thing by cobblers when the soles starting coming off.

I love your outfit today! But then, I love all your outfits, you're such a master of colour mixing. As for the Camper shoes, I'm a big fan (still) – mine don't seem to be wearing off quite as rapidly as yours. I'm sorry to hear that about your lovely shoes. I have a pink pair which is a similar model and they're perfect, so soft and comfy, and the soles are in great condition, even though I walk a lot in them. Well, who knows?!

I like this outfit – very autumnal!

And it's funny – I'm the same with the buses. I walk all over because I hate spending £1.20, and Edinburgh's (generally) very pretty so there's always something to see on the walk. And lately whenever I've been on the bus in town I always seem to have crazy people sitting next to me….

I love how this look is so retro with the colours and this 70s-style knit vest! very cute!
Hm the problem with the Camper's is annoying. I'm sorry I've never owned a pair so I don't have an idea how to fix them.

Wieder mal tolle Farben!

I love this color combination! I do like the design of those shoes — too bad about the soles!

Shame about those campers being short lived. They look adorable! Love that you added further red accents. 😀 Gorgeous outfit!

I am a bus miser too. I can get a pair of colourful tights for that price! (the fair 's ~2.40 round here)
