my new snow boots

I’ve made a bit of money from etsy sales this winter and wanted to treat myself to something with it. I was dithering for ages about what to get, when the snow/ minus 15 degrees riculousness came along and made up my mind quickly – none of my other boots were waterproof enough to withstand the persistent onslaught from snow and slush, and none had grippy enough soles to be able to walk on the ice properly. I ended it up just wearing my waterproof walking trainers all the time, which are not the nicest to look at.

So I decided to spend my pounds on these Merrell boots because they’re super functional but also cute! Unfortunately the postal system then pretty much broke down due to the weather, so I didn’t get them til it started thawing. I’m sure there’s going to another freeze soon enough though, so I’m happy with my purchase, and I’ll be taking these home for Christmas! My feet are so toasty!

And I was so keen to try them out in action that I wore them on Saturday to a mulled wine afternoon even though the ice we melting and these red ones would have gone so much better!

dress – charity shop, ties added by me
skirt – hand me down from Dave’s mum, dyed and shortened by me
top under – h&m
boots – Merrell

Franca, you have such a beautiful smile! I'm also quite envious of your snow boots, they look very cosy indeed!

Those look very comfortable! I love all of your tights.

Warme Stiefel sind was Feines! Ich musste bei den neulichen Schneefällen auch feststellen, dass meine Stiefel alle undicht waren. Imprägnierspray scheint das Problem aber gelöst zu haben…

Those are super cute 🙂 Good to hear they finally arrived – sure the next freeze isn't far though hopefully AFTER all of the Christmas travelers have reached their destinations 😉

    Thank you my dears!

Shallow mallow – me too! Lots of people, including myself are travelling on Saturday, and all this sever weather warning business is freaking me out!

My, those boots look like the cosiest things ever! You definitely need them to keep your feet warm – today has been freezing!

I'm on the look out for some cosy and grippy boots, as I've just been wearing wellies constantly. Although they keep me from slipping, and my feet dry, they are not the warmest things to wear!
