Another pre-snow outfit, or at least pre-proper snow. When I went out, I changed the shoes to boots though, even slightly heely mary janes weren’t really outside world appropriate I’m afraid! But I did wear the proper shoes inside for a bit.
Anyway, more importantly, this outfit was styled by Dave! I was inspired by this article in the guardian, where some of the fashion desk staff got styled by their partners. The results, which you can see below were pretty mixed – some people looked pretty much the same, some looked very different, some looked better, some looked worse (I’ll leave it to you to decide which is which for you – new new outfits are on the right).
Because I wanted to know what would happen if I had that to me, and I’m always up for a challenge, I asked Dave to pick out stuff for me (unlike the thing in the guardian, he was limited to what’s in my wardrobe of course). I was half expecting him to come up with something completely different, given that he occasionally makes noises about some of my clothes being frumpy (like this skirt, where admittedly I see what he’s getting at). But he was keen to point that he just means some of my clothes, and he correctly identified my style as ‘colourful and vintage’! In the end picked out something I might have chosen myself, and doesn’t it look great? Well done Dave!
