This is what I wore on Saturday. I was meant to go out for drinks and potentially a club night as well, but the people I was meant to go out with weren’t feeling up for it, which was fine with me, because I had finally succumbed to the cold and felt pretty bad myself. Dave has been ill for about a month but I’d been able to fight it off until now. So I just went round to my friend’s for a chat.
Let me tell you about the new dress though! I bought it in a pub! One of our local pubs/bars (Victoria on Leith Walk for people who know Edinburgh) has a tie in with a local clothes shop, in which clothes are displayed on mannequins hung on the wall for about a month, and then at the end, the shop takes over a little corner of the pub for one night as a sort of pop up shop and you can buy the clothes (not the actual ones that have been hung obviously, but the same models) at a discount. I had had my eye on this dress every time we had been drinking there, so after a couple of drinks and some encouragement from Dave I bought it.
When I got it home I was very surprised to discover that it’s black and pink and white colours! In the low lighting of the pub I thought it was brown, red and yellow. I could have taken it back, but decided that it’s a good thing to try something unusual for me (I own hardly any pink).
The dress is made from medium weight cotton, so is probably better suited to warmer temperatures rather than the minus 10 celcius snow storm I’ve been living it, but it works ok with the rollneck and the wooly tights doesn’t it? Wearing it on its own will make it a bit smarter though – check out the neckline at the back (backline?).
