Outfit 16.12.10: double skirted goodness (and a new gifted necklace)

IMG_2632 copy

christmas gift necklace

This was what I wore on my last day of work before Christmas. The necklace and bracelet combo was a present from Dave’s mum. We had opened all our presents before travelling, because we couldn’t take them with us due to Ryanair’s excessive baggage charges, which is why I was wearing it so early. It’s lovely, non? Chunky resin goodness!

I felt like I had the most ginorous hips because of the skirt of the black dress flaring out like that, like I was going to get stuck somewhere while walking through thr corridor. I don’t know why this happened, when I look at the picture, I like the way it looks, and I’m not usually afraid of a bit of volume, and almost never have body dismorphic things like that. I hope it was a one off!

dress – people tree
skirt – handmedown from Dave’s mum, shortened and dyed by me
belt – charity shop
boots – esprit
necklace and bracelet – christmas gift!

Definitely don't see any hip issue — the shape is nicely balanced by the fitted waist.

I love the new header, and your new necklace!
And also in response to your previous post question – I never remember to check back on the post for comment responses, I'd rather get them by email.

Love the new necklace, it's gorgeous. And hooray for voluminous shapes as they make people look tiny. You look great in this and it's fair trade too so it definitely gets my approval.

Oh … I love your necklace and bracelet – they're a beautiful balance between pretty and chunky (I love jewellery like that).

They look pretty fabulous with that outfit!! 😀

No, but is simply saying 'thanks' necessary? Would you take the time to return to a post in hopes of seeing a simple thank you?

I mean more in terms of answering a question, or if you have a response to a comment that you really want/hope the person reads. I follow too many blogs to remember to go back and look for a response and I wouldn't have even seen this one if I hadn't happened to log into this disqus dashboard (for the first time ever)

Your hips look fine in this outfit. In fact, before I even read your text I was amazed at how terrific the layering looks! And wow, that necklace sure is a beauty. I really like the semblance of stones & colors.

Regarding your previous post: I like the new blog header! At first I wasn't sure about the Disqus commenting system, but as I've seen it on more & more blogs it's grown on me.
