Capsule Wardrobe Challenge days 5 and 6

Thanks everyone who replied on yesterdays feminist blogging event post! I am so glad that this has received a positive reception and am excited about the discussions that are already happening! I’ve added a static page under the FFB tab in the top bar as well, so if you want to blog about it or anything like that, you can link to that. I’ll be adding the participants and FFB members list to that page as well, once it’s done!

But now, on with the Capsule wardrobe Challenge!

Capsule Wardrobe Challenge day 5

This is my new People Tree dress, which I had bought in the sale a while ago, but had saved up especially for this challenge. It’s a really lovely dress, but it’s really not as smart as they were making out on the website, where they had listed it under party dresses. I was expecting it to be that shiny kind of cotton, but it’s actually just completely ordinary cotton. Also, it originally cost £90 and I would not have been happy to have paid that. I paid £45, which seems more appropriate. But overall, it is a really nice dress, and the fact that it’s not super dressy is probably all the better.

On reflection, I would have worn different tights with this, a lighter, more reddish shade of purple.

Capsule Wardrobe Challenge day 6

I honestly don’t know what I was thinking with those white socks! I think it was because all I had clean was white and black, but I clearly should have gone for black. Ah well.

That vintage tunic is adorable!!! And that "party dress" will get so much more use as an everyday dress (it's also adorable!).

I Love the red dress, it has lots of possibilities, so it was a good buy. The way you have paired it with purple and yellow is so up my alley.

That red frock is lovely, but I would have expected a flashier material for a frock listed under "party dresses" too!

The dress is pretty sweet, but yeah, not particularly a party dress. But lovely classic frock and you are rocking the hell out of it.

I love the red frock and the green shoes – I mean I really love LOVE the red frock and the green shoes! And I adore the beautiful blues and greens in the tunic – such gorgeous fabric. (I think the white socks are fine.)

That people tree dress is something special. Love the big bow tie belt on the waist. It's fun and such a great bold hue!

I always enjoy seeing your Capsule Wardrobe Challenge outfits. I really like the items you picked this time around and how you illustrated them a few posts back. Your love of color is really inspiring and infectious – it's great to see what you put together each day! I can't get over your second outfit in this post. The vintage tunic looks so good over jeans and the colors are so much fun.
