Outfit 6.3.10: Triple polka dots

double polka dots

polka dots

shoes

bag

This is for Everybody, Everywear, where the theme this month is polka dots. I decided to mix two dotted things and add the polka dot coat for good measure. And then for some reason I started singing ‘a polka dot, a polka dot, a mini mini mini and a polka dot’ to that kiddies tune whose name escapes me at the moment (it usually goes a pizza hut, a KFC and a burger king, or a mini, a ford escort and a ferrari). What is that song called? I am silly!

outfit stats: *vintage dress worn as top – vintage shop in berlin * top under – uniqlo *skirt – people tree * shoes – camper * coat – next *bag – the leather store on etsy

Polka Dots | Everybody, Everywear

up

In case you are wondering about the photo location, I did a very blogger thing yesterday and found an outside location other than my back garden for taking pictures. I walked for 10 minutes to get there, dedication! I had come across this building while out for a run, as I’ve recently taken up running to give me some exercise while my writs is wrong and I can’t do yoga.

I love this building! It’s an office building built out of the remains of an old brick warehouse. I am partial to brick buildings, and funnily enough they are quite a rarity here in Scotland, where traditionally all domestic building was done in stone, or that grey pebble dash stuff called harling. Brick was only really used for huge buildings like warehouses and factories and such. There are a few brick buildings near me in a state of disrepair, which makes me sad, and I am glad this one was converted sensibly into something useful.

Sadly I had neglected to check my camera battery and it dies before I was able to take more pictures of the other sides of the building. I did get some mobile phone snaps though:

The back facade:

The side. wonder why all the paint was there!

The stone front facade. That half of the building stands empty. There are signs on it advertising new built flats for sale but the recession obviously put a stop to that since its been like that for the three years we have lived in that area.

Must go to sleep… but this pops up in my reader and how can I not comment on TRIPLE POLKA DOTS??? It's like the holy trinity except not! Also, look at your awesome shoelaces. I am half asleep so cannot for the life of me figure out how they stay on your feet. Franca, I'm confused and impressed. You look fab.

Franca, we are all in polkadots today. Great minds think alike or connections!!
I also had to stop my yoga classes due to my meniscus breaking in my right knee.
I love empty buildings, so misterious, and so good for photos heheh.
Have a grand day, my dear Franca.

I am a huge polka dot fan but had never considered combining them in this way. I love it.

  • Fashionforgiants 7 March 2011, 8:18 pm

Wow. I was going to go with double polka dots, but triple polka dots is outside of my skill set. You look fantastic. I especially like how the "top" is actually the top of another dress. I must figure out how to do that…

well, I am in polkadot heaven reading your post! I love all of the spots! Also, thank you for sharing these wonderful picks of the beautiful brick building. I am always enjoying the architecture when I am out walking, and we have some amazing brick buildings in Oslo, old factories, that always inspire me. Just beautiful. Hugs for you! xx

Great location and you sure out-dotted me by a long shot (I am posting my rather plain single dotness tomorrow)! Love the colours and much dotiness β™₯

3 times is the charm! Love the dots. I'll be wearing some tomorrow. I was surprised today when I realized I didn't really have very many polka dot items to pick from.

    Also yay again for running!

And for brick buildings (there are a lot of brick buildings [and houses] in NC). Actually my husband "counts brick" for a living. Well, that is, he's a commercial construction masonry estimator, at the moment anyway.

I know you said three, but with the coat I see 4. Maybe I am already seeing spots this morning.
