This is my contribution to the Paper Doll Project, organised by Suze of Miss Vinyl Ahoy, in which bloggers were paired up to style each other. I was paired with Marie of Watch Me Dress, a fellow lover of bright colours and layering. Hurrah!

Paper Doll Project

When signing up for the project, we were asked to select one item that we wanted styled, and I chose this bubble skirt that Dave made a while ago. In that weird way I have with patterns sometimes, I’ve only really worn it with quite plain things, so it was great to have some input.

Marie chose to pair it with a bright red top and shoes, and a little denim jacket (in keeping with her style, she rocks the blazers, jackets and cardies!). And I love it! Thank you Marie!

I went back to that warehouse office building for photos. I was more limited in my choice of tripod posistion, because it was sunny (for once) and photographing from the light into the shade or vice versa is too much for my camera. As evidenced by this light infused outtake of my first attempt at a location:

Marie did a great job on your outfit. Very cute. I have a similar jacket. I need to wear it sometime soon.

I love the final photo – the light is beautiful. I love this look. Marie did a great job.

I have a skirt in that fabric (in a different colourway) which is too big on the waist for me and is on my sewing pile. You've inspired me to finally finish it and get it worn.
