From a couple of friday’s ago. I had taken the day off to do my economics assignment, so I really got dressed up for no apparent reason. I just fancied a bit of a break! And I didn’t finish the assignment either, though I have now.
I wore this cape, which I thrifted a good three years ago because I dreamt about finding an amazing tweed cape in a shop (dreamt as in while I was asleep, not dreamt as in hope). This one’s not tweed, and a bit weird, which is why it doesn’t come out often. It’s a sort of fleecey picnic blanket material, which is very warm, but it’s short and not done up in a very sophisticated way (it’s just the belt, and a couple of holes to thread it through), so lots of air gets in underneath. So the weather conditions under which it makes sense are extremely limited. It looks nice though!
The rest of the outfit was built around my shiny new United Nude shoes. It’s really not easy to find outfits that go with them – they demand eighties bodycon dresses of which I have precicely none (and never will have, unless I magically drop three dress sizes). This worked ok I thought, but I’m not exactly full of ideas for other options with what is in my wardrobe!
Also note the different photo locations. I ended up wandering about for ages, but all my usual spots were either full of people or the sun was too bright, so in the end I had to retreat to the garden. I hadn’t really wanted to do that because it had been raining and I didn’t want to get the lovely new shoes muddy. At least the shoes easily cleanable!
