These pictures were all taken last week at Dave and I’s ’60th birthday’, i.e. combined 30th – his was at the beginning of May, mine is at the beginning of June, so we went for somewhere smack bang in the middle. As you can see, the theme was OAPs. I went quite overboard with the stage makeup – I’m really pleased with it, but pretty it was not! I wore this dress, and frumped it up with a cardigan and my friend’s slippers. She’s wearing my hat and the most amazing old lady cardie and shoes (in the first picture).
The charity shops were having a field day with us! When I got my cardigan, I was served by a little old lady who was telling me how lovely the cardie I was getting was. I didn’t have the heart to tell her it was for fancy dress and was going straight back after I’d worn it once. The same happened with those incredibly ugly shoes in the first picture. They were very comfy though I was reliably informed. Other people sourced their granny chic at vintage shops (photo 2), BHS (photo 3, middle) and their actual granny (photo 3, right).
This was our invite:
We also make this buspass template for people – its based on the actual Scottish bus pass for the over 65s:
Dave and I aged our photos using the St. Andrew’s University face altering tool. Its’ pretty crude, but hey!
And here are some of the retro sweets we had – I love Tunnocks! The snowballs are evern better than the teacakes, and man, I love the teacakes!
