National Museum of Scotland in vignettes

National Museum of Scotland

Our historical/natural history/technology/anthropology/science/art/that kind of thing museum has been refurbished and I must say it looks amazing! Not that different, but better, lighter, airier. I went late on Sunday afternoon after I finally finished my last economics assignment, and I want to go back soonest. There’s some fab mid-century interiors/housewares in one of the rooms, trust me for that to be my favourite bits when there are hippos suspended from the ceiling. Though that is pretty amazing too!

Here’s more about the refurb and the architecture.

I cannot wait to go to the museum, I've been putting it off till it gets a little quieter but somehow I don't think that will happen this month. Lovely photos xo

It was ok actually. Busy, but not annoyingly so. The only bit that was a bit mad was the animal room

I love the shot that's on the far right on the top row — looking down through the arches with the balconies on each side. it looks like they did a great job rehabbing the museum!

Ah, two things I like very much: museums and your vignette roundups 🙂
