As I mentioned yesterday, I thought I’d share some info about the dresses I wore for my wedding celebrations, including doing a little showing off about their value for money-ness!
The main thing about this outfit is obviously the dress, which is from Vivien of Holloway. I knew I wanted to get one of those, because I have one already (as worn here at my sisters wedding), and I knew that they really work for me.
I also knew that the sizing of these dresses is all over the place, as in the same size will be completely different between dresses, even though they are the exact same cut and exact same fabric, so I went and actually tried things on in the shop, which was just as well, because out of the three size 14 dresses I narrowed it down to, one was so tight I could barely make it up, one was so wide it wasn’t holding anything in at all, and only one was right. I’m really surprised people don’t complain about this more actually.
But anyway, I don’t want to moan too much, because I do love the dresses, and their £69 price tag. And it was just as well only one fit me, because I was having major indecision problems and was in the shop for ages and ages. I’m really happy with this one, it’s white, so it’s kind of weddingy and not just like I went to a ball, but also has a funkyness about it with the cherries.
I didn’t in the end decide to go for any cherry themed accessories, but just these watermelony hair pins, which pick up the colours in the dress. The are from the etsy seller JujaCrafts and cost £7.50. I also got my hair done at the hairdressers which cost £40. It managed to stay up all night which is pretty good.
That was it for the cost of this outfit, because the tights were the same as the day before, and the shoes, crinoline and earring I already had. So, grand total £116.50! Not too bad eh!
And remember, I’d love to see your thrifty wedding or special occasion outfits, leave a comment with a link if you have one!
