I quite liked this outfit in real life but now I see the photos I’m not so sure. When I put it on, Dave went ‘Hi Granny’ and I guess it does probably have just a few too many frumpy old lady style elements, with the mid length floral polyester dress, the cardigan, the thick white tights, the cat brooch and the sensible shoes, but hey! I did wear that dress the next day with a red long sleeve top underneath, red tights and a red belt, which made it a bit more contemporary. sadly no pictures of that!

Outfit stats: * vintage dress – charity shop * cardiagan – new look * belt – vintage shop in Paris * cat brooch – from when I was little * shoes – office, gift * ring – from a street vendor in Berlin *

it is a bit granny-ish, but in a good way. ^^ I love the cat brooch. 😀

It is granny AND it is real life. To undo the frump factor wear “big girl shoes” works, as in the ubiquitious platform wedges that are the unofficial blogger shoe. Or with those amazing boots your got, you’ve got to ditch the sweater and perhaps pair the dress with a more modern coat- say a jean jacket? But you look fantastic! Even for a young hot grandma.

SO agree with Bella Q about the boots: They are gorgeous!
Granny dresses are in fashion, but they have to be worn with a measure of self-irony, don’t they?

Yes, but who says there’s anything wrong with granny-ish? I love each element of this outfit, particularly the leather shoes and purse, and each comes together into a charming whole. There’s a clean feeling to the outfit I like.

    Have a wonderful day!

I think you look very cute in that outfit! Grannies often have the best style anyway…

The colours look so fresh and pretty! I’d like to see the dress turned up to knee length to add a bit more cheekiness! The bag and kitty brooch are both gorgeous. x

I’ve resisted shortening it so far because I didn’t want to cut into the flower print at the bottom, but I may just! though it’s very slippery fabric, I’m not sure I could manage not to mess up the sewing.

You can do it! Why don’t you use the fabric to make a matching belt or headband? x

I like it, but I guess there are quite a few “granny” elements in there.

I suppose it is Granny style….and admittedly I really like it. I love how in granny style…patterns and thicker textures and cardigans meld effortlessly together to a colourful comfort. It’s a matter of taste i think – because I think you need to change nothing at all. Very cute. i think my husband is not fond of my occasional granny-ness, too bad for him!
