Share your bare face

no make up

Happy weekend kittens! The big blog move gremlins are almost (not quite!) all banished (and I was told at the very last minute that I was allowed to apply for Brussels after all!) so all is good.

Anyway, I just wanted to quickly post to remind you all that next Friday (11 November) I will be hosting a Visual Friend Friday roundup on the theme of ‘no make up’. I want to see your bare faces and your natural beauty (see my previous attempts in black and white and in colour and the beginnings of some thoughts here)! If you’re feeling like writing something (and I will end up with a novel, no doubt) you could also talk a little bit about your relationship with make up.

And just to say this is not supposed to be an anti-make up thing at all! I personally feel it’s a good thing to go make up free every now and then to see what we naturally look like, and to appreciate our natural beauty, but you may disagree. It will just be really great to see everyone’s lovely faces!

There will be a little sign up thingy here on the blog from 8am UK time so you can add yourselves. I’d love lots of you to take part – you don’t need to be in the Friend Friday group! Or even be a blogger – if you fancy, email in a picture (franca(dot)likes(dot)apples(at)gmail(dot)com) and if I get three or more, I’ll do a roundup post.

Love it! You’re a natural beauty. I’m joining the challenge on Friday and I’ve noticed that I’m getting nervous about it. It’s definitely out of my comfort zone (even though I never wear much makeup anyway). Your photo is inspiring.

Oooh I like the sound of this and I’ll be so happy to take part – I’ll have to try and remember Nov 11 as no make up day:) xoxoxo

I like this idea and will have to try and remember to 1) take a pic and 2) get the attachment over to you via email.

& love your photos as examples, especially the black and white.

Lately I’ve started to pare down to the “Minimum effective dose” for makeup, rather than just blindly follow my old makeup routine. I think it looks just as good, if not better, and is SO much easier on my face (less product equals less soap, less stripping of natural oils, less daily work for my pores).
For me, it was just a matter of breaking with my old habits.
Kudos to you, your project, and your gorgeous unmadeup face!
