These outfit posts are getting longer and longer, aren’t they? This is what happens when I make Dave go out with me, we end up wandering around for ages taking photos of everything. I hope you don’t mind, they are all different! I really don’t want to become one of those bloggers posting multiple very similar images everyone always complains about.

I really wanted to wear this dress again. I originally bought it for our OAP themed ’60th birthday’ party, and have worn it a few times since, but never in a very interesting way. Brown is not something I really know what to do with in terms of colours, so I just wore it on its own or with black in the past. But for this, I made myself try something different and paired it with green, and I think it works.

The other thing of note in this outfit is the boots, and it’s not in a good way. They are from camper, and they look great, but they are SO uncomfortable. Honestly, I can’t quite get my head round what is wrong with them (I have (had) four other pairs of camper boots that were all fine) but they are killing. There’s a seam or something that rubs at the back of my heel/ankle that creates huge horrible blisters. Dave got me them for my Christmas, so I feel I should persist. I’ve slathered the offending area in Vaseline to soften up the leather and I wear them every now and then in the hope that they’ll eventually break in, but so far no luck. I wore the boots for maybe 45 minutes with this outfit, and I’ve got giant water filled blisters. If I’d worn them any longer I would have burst the blisters and so I changed into my brown granny style booties. If anyone has any other magical idea how I can get these boots to be wearable, please shout!

Lovely dress, gorgeous with the added green accessories!
I hate painful shoes. That’s odd, I always assumed Campers were ultra-comfy.
A tip I’ve been told is to spray the offending footwear with hairspray and to wear them indoors with two pairs of thick socks. It apparently stretches them nicely. x

I had a shoe (one of a pair, but only one hurt) that pressed very painfully in one spot. I took them to my trusty cobbler and he sprayed them with something, I don’t know what, and gave them a very serious bang with his heavy hammer, against his anvil. And now it’s fine! So maybe take them to a cobbler (I took the offending shoe along with a couple of other pairs that needed repair, and don’t believe he even charged me for the banging) or spray (praps with hairspray as Vix recommends) and just hammer that spot (if you can get at it). If you have to hammer from the outside (obviously with something inside the boot as a makeshift anvil), put a thickish cloth over the leather first so you don’t mark it.

One of my favourite things about having a blog is that you can go on “photoshoot dates” with your partner and take pictures of everything!

Also, brown plus green is a great combo. I personally love brown… and think it also goes nices with red, yellow, and of course pale blue!

As for Camper, I’ve had a pair of their shoes for 4 years, and I recall that the first few weeks they were fairly tortuous. Persistence is key, as is wearing them around the house with thick socks to break them in. I love Camper, though sadly since that day I haven’t been able to afford any more!
