Mama break: Christmas swap

swap goodies

I too part in the Faith Hope and Charity shopping Christmas swap this year and I was paired with the gorgeous Pearl Westwood. Swap parcels were to be a maximum of £12, to have a thrifted and a handmade item, and one item relating to a Christmas song.

Pearl sent me a lovely Picasso scarf from Italy (thrifted) and a necklace made out of pearls and a snowflakey brooch (thrifted and handmade, and related to ‘let it snow’). And chocolate coins!

I sent a book (charity shop), a necklace made out of the felt beads from the handles of a (thrifted) handbag, and one of my heart brooches made out of secondhand fabric. For the Christmas carol thing, I was really struggling! I put in a bag of homemade star and moon shaped German Christmas biscuits (Vanillekipferl) because I was sure there would be a song with stars in. Pearl suggested silent night. That doesn’t actually mention stars but I’ll take it!

Thank you to Pearl for the goodies and Lakota for organising the swap!

  • Fab – love it all. Both necklaces are really clever. I reckon you could go with ‘We three Kings of Orient Are’ for the biscuits – that mentions following a star. Only a bit of fun anyway, the connection can be pretty loose. That book you bought for Pearl looks great too, I have tons of scarves. Thanks so much for taking part, glad you enjoyed it.
