SMWalker neckpiece and pink

This is what I wore on New Year’s eve. I know, I’m SO behind! I needed to dress warm for being outside for the fireworks, hence the cardie. I actually didn’t wear it for most of the night though, and I’m a bit annoyed I don’t have any photos without it. Because that’s a dress, see?

Anyway, that’s not the point of this outfit, that’s the gorgeous neckpiece! It’s by Stephanie Macdonald-Walker/SMWalker (her website seems to be down just now, hopefully it will fix itself, but you can go here in the meantime) and I bought it in Leicester when we were going for the sales. I failed completely to find any black boots in my size, and in the vintage shops everything was too small for me, it was all pretty depressing. But then we stumbled across this little pop up shop and I bought it directly off the designer. I will do a separate post about the shop!

The neckpiece (I am calling it a neckpiece because it’s more than a necklace and less than a scarf. Though she did write scarf on the receipt) is made from wool and all the little loops are pulled out by hand. It’s fastened with an almost industrial looking chain and carabiner thingy, which I’ve hidden underneath here. She also makes pieces from leather, amazing little jackets/boleros that looks like stagewear, I can’t think of an occasion where they would work for me but they look so cool.

Outfit stats:
* dress – people tree * cardigan – charity shop * neckpiece – SMWalker * bag – John Lewis * shoes – Clarks

P.s. I accidentally published a draft version if this on Sunday, though luckily I noticed after just 45 minutes. Very unprofessional of me, apologies!

    The scarf/neckpiece is just beautiful!

    Love the photos but the portrait ones are a little too large to catch the whole shot on screen (unless I hit CTRL-) – you could always show two of the portrait format shots next to each other? That way they’d be a little smaller but still all the same width. Mind you, I think it looks perfectly fine with some different widths too 🙂

      I hadn’t even thought if that way. I’m changing it back to the different widths!

    I went over to your older post to take a peek at the dress ups jetzt fällt mir wieder ein dass Deutsch auch geht xD Naja jedenfalls ist das Kleid so cool, ich liebe den Kontrast vom Muster zu dem schwarzen oberen Part! Aber mit dem pinken Jäckchen siehts auch süß aus und wow dieses Neckpiece ist ja der Wahnsinn. Ich wüsste gar nicht wie ich sowas stylen soll, aber du hast das echt super hingekriegt!
