This is what I wore on New Year’s eve. I know, I’m SO behind! I needed to dress warm for being outside for the fireworks, hence the cardie. I actually didn’t wear it for most of the night though, and I’m a bit annoyed I don’t have any photos without it. Because that’s a dress, see?
Anyway, that’s not the point of this outfit, that’s the gorgeous neckpiece! It’s by Stephanie Macdonald-Walker/SMWalker (her website seems to be down just now, hopefully it will fix itself, but you can go here in the meantime) and I bought it in Leicester when we were going for the sales. I failed completely to find any black boots in my size, and in the vintage shops everything was too small for me, it was all pretty depressing. But then we stumbled across this little pop up shop and I bought it directly off the designer. I will do a separate post about the shop!
The neckpiece (I am calling it a neckpiece because it’s more than a necklace and less than a scarf. Though she did write scarf on the receipt) is made from wool and all the little loops are pulled out by hand. It’s fastened with an almost industrial looking chain and carabiner thingy, which I’ve hidden underneath here. She also makes pieces from leather, amazing little jackets/boleros that looks like stagewear, I can’t think of an occasion where they would work for me but they look so cool.
* dress – people tree * cardigan – charity shop * neckpiece – SMWalker * bag – John Lewis * shoes – Clarks
P.s. I accidentally published a draft version if this on Sunday, though luckily I noticed after just 45 minutes. Very unprofessional of me, apologies!
