First Brussels outfit

This is my first outfit photo in my exciting new location! I was trying out the apartment furniture. For the first time in forever I actually have a blank background available to me. I really love my flat, it’s so light, it’s two rooms, one has three windows and the other has a glass wall leading to a balcony/terrace thing. Not that you would necessarily know, because this picture was taken when Brussels was still in a fog/constant rain nightmare (the weather has now thankfully taken a turn for the better) and despite sticking the camera on iso 6400 and turning up the exposure, I still needed to edit these photos loads to get something approaching true to life colours.

I should take a picture with the other lens at some point as well so you can see the full scale of the door. I had forgotten how high the ceilings are in this apartment, pretty much 4m I’d say, and the door goes almost all the way up. In the interview for the tenant insurance they asked me whether the room was higher than 3.25m, and I was dithering, but if definitely is. I’ll show you another time!

I wore this to watch the Ireland – Scotland 6 Nations rugby game in an Irish pub. I’d tried my best to track down places where Scotland supporters might go, but we are just completely outnumbered in this city. And of course, supporting Scotland is a depressing business! Though I’m glad Scotland at least score tries now occasionally, and that was a good one. I dragged loads of the other secondees (who are from loads of different countries) there, many of whom had never watched the rugby, and some were a little bit bewildered by it I think.

The skirt I’m wearing is this one (numbers 3 and 12), I finally bit the bullet and had it shortened didn’t trust myself to do it due to woven fabric and circleness), it really looks much better at this length!

Outfit stats: * top – people tree * skirt – people tree, shortened * paisley scarf – I think this was a present from Bella Q? * shoes – clarks *

Super cute outfit! It must be so fun to have a new background to work with.
I love your skirt, it looks perfect at that length and I’m a huge fan of Clarks shoes. They’re always so comfortable but still stylish. 🙂

I really like the combination of the blue skirt and purple tights with cream shoes – really lovely. It’s funny because I thought your photos looked pretty well-lit. I think it’s all that white behind you.

It looks like you’re settling in nicely. Looking forward to your Brussels posts.

Your flat sounds lovely Franca – I am envious of your high ceilings, they make rooms so much lighter I find. This outfit is really relaxed but still quirky and I really like the added touch of the scarf. Hope everything is going well for you in Brussels!

Looks like a great apartment. I’m amazed by the trueness of the purple color, which is very, very difficult to get. And the outfit just looks so sassy!

Ha ha ha! My first impulse was to say I LOVE your scarf and then I recognized it- I did send it you- and you look marvelous in it. The outfit is sweet. The fullness of the skirt but with a shorter hem than I’m used to seeing you wear is parfait!
