Urban knitting for L’Aqulia

When I first arrived in Brussels, I took part in a knitting event organised by Alessia, one of the members of the Stitch and Bitch group I go to. It was in support of the italian town of L’Aquila, which was devastated by an earthquake three years ago and is still in disrepair. The project was to knit lots of squares, to sew together to cover the centre to raise awareness of the lack of reconstruction. Doesn’t it look great? I only knitted one square but I’m so pleased to have been part of it!
