An outfit from when the hot hot hot weather was happening! It was so nice, and completely unusual for me to be able to swan about in bare legs and sandals.
I wore this to go shopping, to go to a free open air jazz festival in the Grand Place (really, there is ALWAYS some public festival or other in Brussels, sometimes several in different places on the same day) and then to a party.
I got loads of attention with this dress. Some of it not so nice, a la ‘hey sexy lady’ and whistles, and some almost polite street harassment, ‘vous etes belle’ – I quite like that it’s vous*, and one guy I’m sure said something like ‘tout sera bien’ which is just confusing (it was definitely aimed at me). Though just in case that wasn’t clear, I am not encouraging such comments, guys should keep their thoughts and stares to themselves. No one needs to know about your oversexed mind.
Anyway, this is not about that, because I also got some attention that was 100% fab: A woman asked to take my picture and asked where I got the dress from! She wasn’t that happy when I said London though. I don’t think she was a blogger, I think it was just for her own information, but I was still super flattering!
The shopping involved the cheapo rubber watch and the earrings. They were both from HEMA, which of course I love. I went in for some headphones, which they don’t have (very disappointing for a shop that has everything), but I’m glad I got this stuff instead, I’ve been looking for a bright yellow watch for ages, particularly since my usual chunky Esprit one is still without a replacement strap and I’m getting a bit sick of the dainty silver one. And it was only 10 euro! I also got a dress and some trousers, I will show them another time.
And yes, my bum! I keep forgetting it’s that big. I’m actually only posting that picture because it’s mostly covered up by the bag.

* This is a thing that baffles me in French romantic films. It is SO common for the main characters to say ‘je vous aime’ to each other. So you haven’t got it together enough to call the other tu but you can tell them you love them. I find that very strange!
