The wedding dress, casualised

wedding dress, casualised
wedding dress, casualised

Well, not really casualised, it’s more it was dressed up at the wedding and now it’s it’s own simple self! This was at a family reunion at my aunties a few weekends back, the first day all this super sunny weather started I think! Lots of barbecue and cakes!

Given that it’s the wedding dress, it’s appropriate that I’ve finally taken a photo of my wedding ring! I love the way it sits with the engagement one.

Outfit stats:
* vintage dress – brick lane beyond retro * shoes – clarks * that’s it!

I love that you got a wedding dress you can re-wear! That is so cool, I bet you have a smile on your face everytime you wear it. Is that flowers in your hair in the last photo?xo

It is indeed. They were just sort of stuck in though, not part of my hairdo!

Just after stumbling upon your lovely blog and hooked already 🙂 Love your eclectic posts! Your wedding dress is gorgeous – it must be so lovely to rewear it and be reminded of your wedding day. I’m getting married in August and have gone for something quite simple too – I found it really difficult though to wade through the sea of pouffy dresses out there. Lovely food pics too..feeling rather peckish now 🙂

I never even went into a wedding dress shop! I did toy with the idea of trying on some merginguey monstrosities for fun, but in the end I never got round to it. I might still do it one day!

1- that strawberry pie thing looks amazing!
2- I love all of these photos; it certainly looks like a fun day!!
3 (and most importantly) – your dress is gorgeous and it’s so great that you can rewear it! I kinda hate the idea of wedding dresses being only worn once. 😀

The dress actually looks like a great canvas for lots of different shoes/accessories. I look forward to seeing it out and about more in future!

There for a minute I thought it was your anniversary already! The food at this event just looks scrumptious…though I don’t know that I could get away with wearing white to a barbecue. We slather everything with a red sauce in my part of the US.

Please tell us more about all of that scrumptious looking food! What is the pink stuff on that cake? What kind of tart is that? I want yummy details.

    • Franca 4 June 2012, 7:15 pm

I’ll be happy to oblige. The pink cake is a rasbberry one, the cream is made with cream and joghurt. The one where you can’t really see anything is rhubarb with a cinnamon almond topping. And the strawberry tart is self explanatory!

Thank you! I was wondering if what turned out to be cream and yoghurt was ice cream, but your version sounds better.

You look fabulous. I love that you are able to wear your wedding dress again.

Also, that food looks delicious. What a wonderful day.

Your wedding dress is really pretty. You were smart to choose a dress that you can re-wear. My wedding dress has been sitting in a closet for years.
