This is what I wore to the wedding! I had bought that dress such a long time ago, in a maternity shop in Brussels when I was about 14 weeks and barely showing (these pictures are 31 weeks). I got it especially for this wedding, so I was saving its first wear til then, but it’s also work appropriate (it’s a sort of wrap style around the chest, and if you don’t pull the lower layer under your boob, the neckline is about 5 cms higher. Not that I think the neckline shown in the picture is too low for work or anything), and I should be able to wear it post pregnancy too. It comes with a matching belt, which seemed a bit overkill given that attention is already drawn to the middle anyway, but I suppose will come in handy once I have a waist again.
The fascinator I borrowed off Kristen of Kristen Makes after she posted about it on her blog. She made it herself, how awesome is that! Do go click through and look at the photo showing the top. I’d only met Kristen once before, at the crafter’s celidh sewing blogger meet up, but it turns out we live on the same street! It’s a small small world.
I must say though, my prediction a year and a half ago that fascinators might be on their way out seems to be holding. Mostly the people wearing fascinators at the wedding the other weekend were elderly relatives, only two other young people had anything in their hair. And they were all more like hair clips than proper fascinators really.
A lot of the rest of the stuff is from my own wedding actually – the shawl, shoes and tights!
