The first day of my maternity leave and and a very crammed and productive day too. Dave and I had a stall at a craft fair and in between setting up and the fair managed to squeeze in christmas shopping and some random errands. And we passed a shop with an excellent sale so afterwards we both bought shoes for ourselves!
All this was done on minimal sleep because Dave had an (at least partially alcohol induced) upset stomach the night before and I of course woke up and we were up for hours. I really don’t sleep well any more, and have had maybe a couple of solid nights sleep in the last six weeks. It’s not just that I can’t get comfy because of the bump, I’m actually wide awake about 4-5am. Recently I’ve started just getting up and doing stuff and then going back to bed rather than lying in the bed willing myself to fall asleep again. I get less sleep that way, but it is more satisfying because at least I’m productive, though of course not ideal when you have to get up at 7am to go to work. But at least now I don’t have to do that and can have naps when I need them. I’ll quite happily do my sleeping in chunks, as long as I get enough in total I don’t mind, so I’m quietly optimistic that newborn baby sleep deprivation won’t destroy my sanity.
Anyway… clothes: this is the other orla keily x uniqlo top I got, with the stem design. The enamel earrings I made in a workshop run by my craft group granny greens – I really want a mini kiln now! Shame they’re £500. The neckwarmer is another thing from my closed-down-etsy-shop stash.
Two more days til week 37, when the baby is fully formed and theoretically ready to be born!
Outfit stats: * top – olra keily x uniqlo * dress under – charity shop * maternity jeans – h&m * shoes – converse * bag – scaramanga, present * neckwarmer and earrings – I made them * coat – dave made it
