The eagle eyed among you may have spotted I was wearing new glasses in Monday’s outfit post. The online glasses shop Firmoo asked me to do another review, after the one I did in August. Which of course I said yes to, because I love having lots of pairs to swap around! I like the idea of having a big collection of glasses to match different outfits.
I was pleased to discover that since then, their selection has changed round completely, so there were plenty of new choices and it’s nice to know that not too many people will have the same ones. Actually, looking at the website now, none of the frames in my shortlist from when I picked a month ago are actually available any more, so things do change quickly.
I had between two pairs: one was square and a mix of blue and what was either yellow or orange. There were different photos, and in some it looked like a nice brownish orange, but in some it looked like a pretty bright yellow (and the description said yellow), which is a bit much. So in the end I didn’t want to risk it and went for these. The colour is very similar to the other pair, but the shape is a bit rounder. It reminds me a bit of the kind of glasses secretaries and office workers wear in eighties films. Like this:
The kind that they at some point take off, and put their hair down, to reveal a glamorous new persona. Somehow people always seem to be able to see fine without glasses, which sort of makes you wonder why they were wearing them in the first place. Anyway, these kind of remind me of the before, but in a good way!
You can read my views on the process of ordering from Firmoo in the other review so I won’t repeat it here, but just to say that they have a programme for new customers where the first pair of glasses is free – you just pay postage and a tiny bit extra if you want extra thin lenses. Dave did this and it came to just £10 for a pair of glasses, which is pretty good!
Just in case that wasn’t clear, disclosure: I was provided with the glasses for review free of charge. The review is my honest opinion and has not been seen by firmoo prior to posting
