My assessment centre is on the 26 April and I’ve decided to treat myself to something new when it’s done. I’ve been somewhat prematurely looking at stuff, and here are some choices.
I’ve become a little obsessed with Marimekko and have been stalking ebay, but since it’s not sold in the UK, there’s very little and any nice stuff always goes fore so much you might as well buy new. I found a French website that sells old seasons clothes for just about within my price range, this dress is 100 euros. Though I have kind of decided to leave this one for now, as I’m not sure the shape will actually suit me and that’s a lot of money to spend if it doesn’t. So I thought I might sew one in that shape first to see what it looks like. I therefore have a question for any sewists: can you think of a pattern that looks like that? Doesn’t need to have the ruffles.
My friend’s cousin used to have a shop on Rose Street which I always liked the look of (though never even went in I don’t think), and now they’re selling off their stock. Which means this APC denim dress is now £75 (usually 235). I do love it, but I guess it is quite simple and maybe not that special. And also I think I may be slightly blinded by the label.
ZIBtextile leggings (and dress?)
OK, that’s actually two things! But the leggings would be my first choice. They’re from Latvian etsy sellers ZIBtexile (I’ve posted about them before). I have been getting more into leggings what with my changing shape, and it would be nice to support independent designers. And the dress, well it’s not very practical (short sleeves, too casual for work), but: cats! geometric shapes! bright colours!
