Thrifted wrap dress

with Milo

Here I am wearing the newly charity shopped dress I posted about yesterday, for what I guess Americans would call ‘date night’. Our first night out as a couple without Milo. Two of my friends were babysitting and I met Dave straight from work for delicious food and drinks. We went to the Gardener’s Cottage, which I’ve posted about before, for dinner this time. They do a set six course menu, this was it on the night:

They do adjust for dietary requirements, so I didn’t have the pigeon. It was all super delicious! The way the restaurant works is that there are big long communal tables and you’re right next to other diners. Which is a nice idea up to a point. I’m saying this because I’m so glad we were there for the early sitting because at eight this group of four yahs were seated next to us. Totally obnoxious! They were all speaking so loudly they were practically shouting, and this horsey guy next to Dave was completely taking over his space. I don’t know what people get out of behaving like that, if these people had been sitting next to us all night, I’m not sure I’d have enjoyed the meal that much, which would have been a shame. On the plus side though, one of the other diners I’m 90% sure was Roddy Womble of Idlewild fame.

After the restaurant we went for a drink in one of the Swedish bars, and I had the Swedish pear cider Iduns I’d been dreaming about while pregnant. It was nice, but I think I’d built it up too much, it’s not really a winter drink. Then we walked home past a lot of drunk people on their way out. We were back home by 22.45 to relieve our lovely babysitters who did a fantastic job!

Outfit stats:
* dress – charity shop * top under – american apparel * necklace – inherited * shoes – clarks *

p.s. Sorry photos a bit grainy! But days are getting longer so hopefully that won’t happen again for a while.

    I’ve actually had this dress for years myself, and I wear it all. the. time. There’s something so easy about a wrap dress, and I fell in love with the cute print at the time.

    Allo Franca!

    Date night! Hurrah!
    Love the wrap frock, it’s a gorgeous print and being such a classic, you’ll get loads of wear out of it.
    Ugh, I can’t bear people who think they are the centre of the universe and no one else exists or matters!

    What a cute dress! I love Edinburgh and one of my favorite parts is that there are plenty of charity shops (and an Anthropologie)! As I am soon coming over (from Sweden) for a longer stay, I am definitely going to come back here to see if I can get some more ideas about where to eat (or not)!
