Multicolours in Milo’s room

So, I’m standing in Milo’s room, which as I mentioned we painted yellow. These pictures give probably quite an accurate representation of what the colour looks like when light is not coming into the room (these pics were taken in the afternoon, when the sun is at the other side of the house).

I should have remembered from our old living room really that yellow is not the best colour to take outfit pictures against, as it makes the skin look yellow too, and I already am naturally a yellowish shade. My iyengar yoga teacher, who is italian, and super pleased that Milo has inherited my skin tone and therefore looks the same as her kids, says it’s olive and that it goes green in the winter. I wouldn’t go as far as that, but yeah, it’s definitely unusual next to most British people, who are white in the winter and reddish in the summer.

Anyway… I shall not be taking pictures in there again, but it’s nice you can see the other finished wall. It’s going to be a while before this room gets finished, as Milo is not showing any signs of sleeping through the night yet, so his bed is still down the stairs on the same level as our bedroom.

Outfit stats:
* top – uniqlo * skirt – vintage shop in Brighton * sandals – camper * necklace – can’t remember *

    My mum and I have the same slightly olivey skintone – makes it a nightmare buying most tinted moisturisers as they all tend to be too pink! (Especially for me as I’m paler but still olivey.)

      I have that problem too. I went with clinique in the end, got the colour picked on their counter in john lewis. the shade I have is just right for winter, though when I tan, I feel like a bit of a goth putting it on(it’s not that bad, but it seems too light). I’ve asked them about it though, and they said to just put a bronzer over it, which is too high maintenance for me!

    I love the skirt! such amazing colours and it looks great with the yellow in Milos room. My daughter has a lovely olive skin colour too not quite sure where she gets it from though.
