August break roundup, domestic chat and thoughts on this blog

augustbreak roundup

So, that was it, August break! I hope you enjoyed the various things I had scheduled and my daily instagram pictures. I really enjoyed doing the challenge, and I think the instas look great together! I wouldn’t commit to doing a prompt-based 365 challenge or anything, as it’d just deteriorate into me making pictures of Milo fit the prompt, but for a month it was perfect!

I did really need to blogging break as well. I dedicated August pretty much entirely to preparing for this second assessment centre for promotion (this is how it works at my work. You get promoted to a grade, not a job, and you have to pass an elaborate assessment centre called a board), this time it was to be a statistician. I really am a glutton for punishment! I don’t think I’ll have passed this one either, but it went better than the one I did in May, where I did so badly in one of the elements that I felt I was never going to pass it ever. So even though this one didn’t go great either, it did at least feel passable, which has restored my confidence a little. I get the result at some point this week.

Anyway, it wasn’t all boring work stuff, I also finally made some progress on sewing that Colette blouse (although it’s still far from finished) and I had some refresher driving lessons, after not having driven for about a decade, and never on the wrong (left) side of the road, which were less disasterous than I expected. I’m determined to become a driver now! And of course there was plenty of mama meetups with coffee and cake!

I’ll stop nattering on now, this is not really that kind of blog, though it may become that, you never know! I have a few meaty posts planned, and some outfits to share, but I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for blogging once they run out and I am back at work, so I may just end up sharing pictures of Milo and our weekends, doing instagram roundups, and talking about weaning and crawling and stuff. I do want to keep the blog going, it’s so great to have a creative outlet like this, even if no one reads/comments. Though I very much hope some people will!

Right, enough! Back on Wednesday!

Oh do keep the blog going dear Franca, you’re such a talented photographer and your shots have such a unique atmosphere. It’s wonderful to see Milo growing up, he’s such a sweet, smiley wee fellow. All the best of luck on your results, when do you return to work? Will it be full time or part time? Big hugs, D xoxoxo

I’m still reading, and I enjoy your thoughts, however random they are!
