A stripy fifities shirt dress

vintage fifties stripy dress
colourful dad
cat brooch
navy jacket

God, my post titles are so exciting! I always give them really descriptive names in case anyone googles that term. which of course absolutely NEVER happens. But actually now my brain is too fried to think of anything more interesting, so I guess I will stick with it. I hope it doesn’t bother you too much that all my posts have been so stingy on the words lately. I still have all the ideas and opinions but I am having a hard time motivating myself to write them down. The being back at work thing is going reasonably well after the first couple of days, but I’m usually wiped out after, so once we’ve put Milo to bed I just want to sit on the sofa and not think too much. Plus we’ve finally got into Dexter and it’s a bit addictive. I’m sure that I’ll get better as I get used to being at work again.

Anyway, this is the outfit I wore when we went to the National Portrait Gallery. The fifties dress one of the things I got off my uncles mum just before I announced my pregnancy, alongside this white sixties one. I’m also wearing the Jigsaw jacket I thrifted back in April.

Outfit stats:
* dress – from my uncle’s mum * jacket – charity shop * Lea Stein brooch – antique shop in Rome while on honeymoon * shoes – office * bag – etsy *

I swear I became so lazy when I started my new job, and I don’t even have a little one at home to take care of! I’m still trying to fully adjust. I love this dress, the colour is great and that brooch is perfect. You look fantastic xo

I love the way the stripes fall and the shape of the dress is very flattering.

That brooch is really, really charming! I love a good hit of woodland wardrobe whimsy, especially when fall hits, it just seems to partner so well with the vivid change that mother nature is undergoing. Beautiful striped dress, too. I really like how the stripes on the collar run horizontally, instead of vertically like the rest. It’s a great touch!
