A wee while ago we went to see Dave’s sister in North Wales, and stopped off in Chester on the way. It’s really nice, kind of like York with the city walls and narrow streets with Tudor houses! I don’t know why this surprised me, I think it is that Holyoaks (terrible early evening soap, non Brits) is set there. I obviously didn’t actually expect it to look like a film set populated by trashy looking overacting people, but somehow it must have tainted my expectation. I certainly didn’t expect it to be as upmarket as it is!

I love Chester, my Godmother’s husband is a Canon at the Cathedral so we’ve visited a lot. It’s odd that Hollyoaks is set there because its so unlike the city

The guinea pig royals cushion is hilarious!!

I’ve only been to Chester once and it seemed very lovely.

Hollyoaks is actually filmed in Liverpool, which may explain that!

Oh what a great post, such stunning pictures! I used to live in North Wales (about 30 mins from Chester) and it’s lovely to see your photos, takes me right back to my expeditions around Chester as a child. XX
