I bought this dress ages and ages ago, specifically for having family photos taken. They were first supposed to happen in January, but for a variety of reasons had to be rescheduled for the third time now, and since we’re now into wedding season (we’re getting out wedding photographer to take them) we haven’t even got a new date yet, I decided to stop ‘saving’ the dress and just start wearing it. It’s not going to it any harm being washed a few times! I think it was a good choice of dress, it’s easy to wear and comportable, but it doesn’t look too casual. And it fits with my new colour scheme, which i hadn’t even decided on yet when I bought it.
The Gap mac is a very recent purchase, for once i got a picture straight away. I pass a lot of charity shops on my way home from work, and for some reason loads of them had been putting beige macs in the window. Which planted a seed in my mind, obviously. Then they all started selling (or being taken out of the window), which made me realise I wanted one! This was the last one left and I liked it on me, which is a bit of a revaluation, since it’s a neutral shade, which a couple of years ago I wouldn’t have touched with a barge pole! It’s maybe a tad on the large side, but for a charity shop bargain that’s ok. I’m maybe not 100% on the ‘only buying things that are perfect’ wagon yet.
Dave calls it my dirty old man coat, and I may have started calling it that myself. I’m not quite sure where this dirty old man in a mac image comes from or if it has any basis in reality but I’m happily perpetuating it!
