Better get this out of the way before he actually turns 17 months! He’s less like a baby every day! He’s properly settled in the tweenie room at nursery now, and he’s interacting with the other kids really well. I think it’s great for him cos some of the older ones can speak. He’s not talking yet, but he is totally ‘talking’ all the time, having a little conversations with himself. I’d love to know what’s going on in his head. Cos he’s not speaking, I think I underestimate what he understands, but it’s probably a lot! He’s pretty good at making himself understood when he wants something (food, being picked up and going outside mostly) anyway!
And what I always say: the one thing that isn’t going so well is the sleeping. We went through a magical two weeks where he slept through about 50% of the time, but then he got a throat infection and that was the end of that. I wouldn’t even mind at all if he just slept in our bed quietly, but he’s got this knack for turning himself round 90 degrees, facing right across my pillow, so I have no space for me head at all. Then occasionally he’ll semi wake up and start kicking Dave in the face (his feet are pointing that way), or throwing himself around headbutting us. It’s not far off the point where having him in the bed is more disruptive than going through controlled crying, although we’re not quite there yet. I’m still really hoping his sleeping will fix itself!
