Posing with a cup of tea!

A cup of tea always improves things, so might as well pose with it! I’m wearing that asos skater dress I bought for the family photos again. It really is such a brilliant thing, it’s just jersey and hence super comfy, but it still looks like a dressy dress. I’ve no plans to buy another one because of fast fashion/sustainability concerns, but if they (or someone else!) were to produce this in fairtrade organic cotton, I wouldn’t mind another one at all, maybe in a dark red colour.

I’m wearing my new camper shoes, as I seem to be doing at least every second day since I got them. They are a bit faded now, so not quite as in your face bright, plus next to the yellow tights it wouldn’t matter if they were anyway.

Outfit stats:
dress – asos * shoes – camper * brooches – one’s a gift the other one I bought either at a craft market or at an independent boutique *

Your dress is very similar to the Kitschycoo Lady Skater pattern. Perhaps you could make one!? She also has some really excellent tutorials on her blog if you haven’t sewn with knits before!

I am reading this with a huge mug of Yorkshire tea.
Can’t believe how quickly your little one is growing.

a cup of tea AND a brooch of a cup of tea! Goodness! Yes, the dress is pretty but I do get your fast fashion/fair trade concerns… cos I have similar ones. My issue is, as someone who has just opened up a boutique with clothing that will, actually, last for years is that many people don’t seem to care too much about quality… like, they accept it will only last a season and still pay forty odd dollars for it. sigh… I wish more people bought things they liked, not just cos of trends… sigh. Anyway, that’s my rant for the day- I’m going thrifting.
