I took these photos what feels like a million years ago, in September 2013. I was still on mt leave and Milo was just crawling around (that’s him there by the fireplace, looking tiny). I took way way too many photos, and was them completely overwhelmed which is why it look me so long to edit them. Also I mainly do my editing in GIMP on my laptop now, because that way I can do it while doing something else. We only have photoshop on the desktop, which is upstair out of the way, and unfortunately that’s where I saved all the photos and then deleted them off my camera. Anyway… I did get round to it eventually at which point I discovered they’re not even that great picture. BUT I WAS BLOODY WELL GONNA USE THEM AFTER KEEPING THEM FOR SO LONG!
At least our lieving room does still pretty much look like that! There’s a few more pictures in the gallery wall, we hung another set next to the telly (which actually I’m not showing here as all the cables look a mess) and there’s more stuff in the printers square, but that’s about it. Oh except the toys. There are LOADS more toys after Milo’s first birthday, and they;’re usually thrown all about the floor, especially the duplo. As far as he’s concerned, chucking about is what it’s for!
It’s our favourite room in the flat and it was a big big selling point. Big literally as well as figuratively! The ceilings re SO high, I mean we had high ceilings in the old flat but this is another half a metre extra. It makes it a bugger to heat, but just look at all the light it lets in.
The best piece of furniture in this room is the amazing mid century sideboard. Unfortunately the pictures don’t really show it very well. It’s a McIntosh one, you get them every now and then here as it’s a Scottish company but this one is rare cos it’s Rosewood. It’s really big, even in that big a room it only just fits between the two radiators. It was one of our very few furniture purchases for the new place, everything else was for Milo. We absolutely love it!
Oh, and the fifties chairs are our wedding chairs, you can read about them here.
